Columns in the Cistern

As you walk down into this cavernous space, your eyes adjust to the darkness, and in front of you are so many columns, stretching into the black. I had come here having heard that spirits linger here, and was delighted to feel the energy of this space. I silently asked permission to take no more than 10 photographs, and then a woman bumped into me, looked me in the eyes and said 'Yes' in heavily accented English. Inside the cistern in Istanbul.
